Fund will invest in companies that demonstrate commitment to sustainable development and the generation of positive social or environmental impact
Singapore, 29 October 2019 – ABC World Asia, an Asia-focused private equity fund dedicated to impact investing, today announced the close of its inaugural S$385 million fund. The Fund saw participation from investors including Temasek Trust, Temasek, Pavilion Capital, Mapletree Investments, Seatown Holdings and Sembcorp Industries.
ABC World Asia was established in May this year by Temasek Trust, the philanthropic arm of Singapore headquartered investment company, Temasek. The fund’s investment strategy is aligned with Temasek’s ABC Framework for an Active Economy, a Beautiful Society and a Clean Earth, which builds on the ideals of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Geographically, ABC World Asia will explore investments primarily in China, Southeast Asia and South Asia.
The fund will look for companies that demonstrate commitment to generating positive, measurable social or environmental impact, alongside the ability to deliver compelling risk-adjusted returns.
